Ochre Court, located in Newport, Rhode Island, is a historic 19th-century mansion that serves as a stunning venue for wedding receptions.With its French chateau-style architecture, the mansion offers a blend of historic charm and modern amenities, making it an ideal setting for elegant celebrations.


Grand Historic Architecture: The mansion's design is inspired by 16th-century French Gothic style, featuring high slate roofs, gables, and mullioned windows reminiscent of the Château de Blois. The interior boasts a magnificent Great Hall that rises three stories, adorned with intricately carved wooden arches and a domed ceiling mural, providing a majestic setting for events. ​

Versatile Event Spaces: Ochre Court offers multiple rooms suitable for various aspects of a wedding reception. The Great Hall serves as a central gathering space, while additional rooms can accommodate dining and entertainment, allowing for a customizable event layout. ​

Scenic Outdoor Areas: The mansion features a double projecting terrace that opens onto a lawn with panoramic ocean views. Stone galleries with elaborately carved railings enhance the outdoor experience, providing picturesque spots for ceremonies and photographs

Exclusive Use and Capacity: Hosting a wedding at Ochre Court includes exclusive use of the mansion for a five-hour reception. The venue can accommodate a significant number of guests, with ample space for dining and dancing.

On-Site Chapel for Ceremonies: For couples seeking a Catholic ceremony, the Our Lady of Mercy Chapel is available on campus. This chapel offers a dignified venue for weddings and is inspired by Salve Regina's coastal landscape and historic Newport architecture. The light in this chapel is fantastic and they layout is contributing well to capture your celebration

Photography Opportunities: Where to start? SO many options!

The mansion's historic interiors, grand staircases, and oceanfront lawns provide a variety of stunning backdrops for wedding photography. Additionally, the wrought-iron gates and tree-lined driveway offer unique photo opportunities. ​

Affiliation Requirements and Rental Fees:

Great News: as of January 2024, Salve Regina University opened up that wedding receptions at Ochre Court do not have to be reserved by Salve Regina graduates only anymore, it is now open to the public as well.
